Behind every successful refurbishment is the ability to see potential. While this Amesbury property had become tired over time, it offered solid foundations, a generous garden and the opportunity to create a home that would appeal to modern living.

The vision was clear: transform the property into a bright, welcoming home that someone would immediately want to move into. Every decision was carefully considered, balancing practicality, style and long term value while respecting the character of the original house.

One of the biggest opportunities was improving the way the home flowed. The separate kitchen and dining room were opened into a single sociable space, centred around a contemporary kitchen with an island that naturally became the heart of the home. New French doors strengthened the connection with the garden, bringing in natural light and creating a much stronger relationship between the indoor and outdoor spaces.

Elsewhere, the layout was carefully refined to better suit modern family life. The original bathroom and separate WC were combined to create a spacious family bathroom, while an additional downstairs WC was introduced during the project. Although not part of the original plan, it was a natural addition that significantly improved both the functionality and long term appeal of the property.

Throughout the refurbishment, the aim was never to remove the home's character but to build upon it. Fresh white interiors created a bright contemporary feel, while the original internal doors were retained, preserving a sense of the property's history and solid construction. Outside, the front and rear gardens were refreshed, allowing the home to feel complete from the moment of arrival.

The transformation was immediate. As soon as the property was marketed, the very first couple to view it chose to make it their new home. For us, there could be no better confirmation that every decision throughout the refurbishment had achieved exactly what it set out to do.
