Full internal renovation delivers fresh rental home

A local estate manager approached us early in the purchase of this three-bedroom bungalow in Great Durnford. Previously owned by an elderly lady who had sadly lost her husband, the property had seen very few updates since it was built and was no longer suitable for letting in its original condition.

The Best Build Team was brought in to carry out a full renovation, transforming the tired bungalow into a modern, bright, and welcoming home that is now an asset to the new owner.

Working closely with the client, we developed a comprehensive design and renovation plan. This included:

• Full replacement of all windows
• Insulation and new cladding to improve energy efficiency and appearance
• Complete rewiring and new plumbing throughout
• New heating system installed
• A fully refurbished bathroom and WC

We reconfigured the kitchen layout, removing built-in cupboards to create a larger, more practical space and added a new doorway leading out to the driveway. All internal doors were replaced, plasterwork was refreshed where needed, and the entire home was redecorated in light, neutral tones to maximise brightness and appeal.

To add character and warmth, we suggested and installed a new log burner in the lounge which now serves as a charming focal point in the main living space. Soft, neutral flooring was laid throughout, providing a fresh foundation that gives future tenants the flexibility to make the home their own.

This full renovation has added significant value to the property, which has now been successfully let.
